Results from our gala dinner with Greg Chappell and Jason Gillespie

Hello again everyone, and thank you all for coming to our wonderful gala dinner/auction with Greg and Jason on Wednesday the 2nd of November.
Firstly, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and had a great time and learned more about our noble cause. Remember, 3 rhinos and 100 elephants are currently being killed each day around Africa!  Secondly, thanks so much to Greg and Jason for being our special guests and participating so well in the Q&A and then networking with the audience afterwards. Thirdly, we really appreciate the role played by Adam Shand of 6PR as the moderator for the panel show, with his knowledgeable questions.  And finally, yet another outstanding performance from our celebrity auctioneer, Tiny Holly, who worked tirelessly for more than a couple of hours to find new homes for an array of items – great job!

Our aim, as always, is to entice our supporters to give as much as possible so that we can keep supporting all our field programmes as best we can. We live in an amazing space in Perth and our beneficiaries are far, far worse off, suffering drought, heat, poachers and so on.  We really are in a position to help them survive so please keep the rhinos in your mind when you have a bit of discretionary spending power come your way.  Thanks.

So here’s how the fundraising went;

*          Main auction    —  $78,000

*         Silent auction    —  $14,125

*         Memberships   —  $1,950

*         Donations          —   $500

*         Other sales       —    $600

TOTAL              —  $95,175

Plus we started the day with a nett profit of $4,000 from the ticket sales after deducting the framing and preparation costs, and we also had 12 pledged expressions of interest (still  6 places available – attached) for our exciting Rhino Ranger Support Scheme, at $3,000 each, for a further $36,000.  This means that the total amount raised on the night was a massive $135,175. So thanks to everyone for such a marvellous night.

None of this would have been possible without the amazing support of a whole host of sponsors and supporters.  Our main event sponsor is Travel Directors, 92424200,  our official travel partner, who offer a wide range of group tours to all corners of the world as well as a full travel service for individuals and corporates.

Primewest property investors offer wholesale property syndicates and developments and donated some south west holiday packages. Howling Wolves wines offered you their range of whites, reds and sparkling throughout the evening and Gage Roads beers quenched your thirst from the first ball onwards. Picasso Print & Design did a mighty job with our 36 page catalogue, our 4 page brochure and 2 page RRSS flyer.
