RIP Greg Gibbard

He was a long standing member of Save African Rhino Foundation, and a founding member, along with John Lemon, of Painted Dog Conservation (Inc), back in 2003.  He was also their first Chairman. Having retired from his academic career in the late 2000s, he moved to PDC on the edge of Hwange NP in 2010, to lead their administration team. He was a committed conservationist, a great worker for the dogs and a very kind human being.  We regularly met with him on our frequent visits to the PDC Centre.

He was fiercely attacked in his house and died from his injuries. He will be sorely missed by all who knew or worked with him and he passes with our grateful thanks for all he’s done for his beloved dogs.

Rest in peace, Greg.

A special memorial service will be held for Greg this coming Wednesday, 29 April, at 10.30 at Norfolk Chapel, Karrakatta. You are invited to attend as a mark of respect for all that Greg did to make the world a better place to be.  I think it will be fine to wear your SARF T shirt if you wish to.
